The Board of the mosque, Momodou Bandeh tells Bergens Tidende that he now expelled from the mosque.
– It did Immediately we were aware of the relationship. He is not a member of the congregation nor Norwegian citizen. We must protect our young from such tendencies, and chose to take a conversation with him and make clear that we did not accept this. He was not welcome in our church, says Bandeh.
Rescue radical
Bandeh says there are Muslims who are least of interest that tendencies towards radicalization to develop.
– We know that a lot of radicalization going on male and female rooms over the internet. We must prevent. When someone does wrong things in the name of Islam, it is our duty to speak out. Support for IS and terrorist acts we have seen in Paris and Copenhagen, making us afraid, saying Momodou Bandeh.
The church in Bergen counts today 2,300 members.
Police Security Service (PST) rains that over 70 Norwegian citizens and Norwegian association is and has been in Syria as warriors for IS (the Islamic state). Other sources believe the number of Norwegian IS-warriors are higher.
– No Bergen has enlisted
Bergen municipality is in contact with PST and police in combating radicalization, but Municipal commissioner Eiler Macody Lund (FRP) says there is no information that youth from Bergen has enlisted as IS-fighters in Syria or Iraq.
– My impression is that PST is not particularly concerned when it comes to recruitment from Bergen. But it is important to have a good dialogue, so that we see any warning signs early, says Lund bt.no.
