Children and Equality Minister Solveig Horne (FRP) hope that the new rules will be submitted to Parliament before the New Year, writes Manager.
– The main objective of the proposals is to make the child support scheme better, more accurate and fairer, says Horne Nettavisen.
A new proposal for amendments to the rules on child and changes in the rules for contributions to children who have reached the age of 18, will be sent out for consultation Tuesday.
Will prevent misuse of contributions
Government recommends changes in the contributions for children over 18 years is to be calculated, and changes to prevent abuse of contributions.
– contributions after 18 years is often higher because child benefit is discontinued and no longer deducted when calculating contributions. In addition, it is often less agreed intercourse between contributions parent and youth against late teens, so visitation deduction lapses. The contribution will therefore be higher. The proposals will help ensure that the scheme is perceived more in accordance with the purpose, says Horne said in a statement.
The government also wants the Hub will have the opportunity to check whether youth are studying when they get grants to study.
Will the child’s income to be deducted from
Horne also wants teen income next to the school that exceeds a minimum amount, to be given greater importance on the contribution than it does today.
The proposal also lower contributions for custodial parent with several children, when one wants to take into account economies of scale by having more children in the household.
