(Dagbladet): 38-year-old charged with murder of twelve-year-old Kristin Juel Johannessen, who was found dead on August 5 1999 Larvik, have been confronted by the police with the new DNA evidence.
– Aahh, it can forget. I have not been touched her. That … that’s not true, pure and simple. No, said the accused according to VG when he was confronted with the new DNA evidence.
The father of Kristin, Roar Juel Johannessen, do not believe the accused 38-year-old, who is charged again for the same murder, will turn the matter now. He has throughout denied guilt.
Detects leaks
Johannessen is also greatly irritated that new information released by questioning, just like back at the start of the 2000s.
– These leaks are a paradox for us. Who is leaking this time? Back during the first interrogations, when he was indicted last time, there was an incredible amount of leaks. Why do they leave with information from interviews with the media? Johannessen says to Dagbladet.
Police found the accused DNA at Christina’s fingernails and therefore believes it is strong evidence that he had contact with her.
– We believe this proving that the accused has been in close contact with the deceased, and we therefore believe can link the accused to the murder plot, said Acting Deputy Police in Oslo Police District, Kjell Johan Abrahamsen, when police presented evidence at a press conference in Larvik last Thursday.
– He will not turn
– This we heard the well when he was interviewed in 2000, before the trial. He said that only a sick person could commit an infanticide. What he should have said in interviews now, he gets to stand for yourself, says Kristin father, Roar Juel Johannessen, told Dagbladet.
– He denies even guilt, but DNA evidence say something completely different. I do not think we’re going to get a confession, there’s plenty of evidence that will trap him. He will not turn now, then I think the confession would come at the first court hearing, says Johannessen, who has worked diligently over the years to resolve the matter.
– Close dialogue
The investigation of Kristin’s murder progressed briskly through the weekend, after the former sentenced and acquitted the man was arrested again in the case, type NTB.
– We have close dialogue with him, although he questioned denies guilt, says Kjell Johan Abrahamsen police.
The man has always swore his innocence, and he does so still, according to his lawyer Søren Hellenes.
– He is puzzled by the arrest, saying Hellenes Dagbladet .
The prosecution has filed the case resumed.
