Wagon trains headed to Bergen overturned on E 16 – BergensAvisen

A road train rolled on E 16 at Sheep just before the clock 18 Sunday evening.

All emergency services who managed the place, and 110 exchange reports that the driver must be ambulatory.



No leakage

The vehicle combination drove in direction Bergen and rolled over on its side off the road.

– Our crews from Voss fire has reached the site. The driver apparently unharmed but being checked by health now. Due to language problems we have so far not been ascertained what has happened, but the car does not contain dangerous goods, and there is no leakage from the trailer, said guard commander at the 110 exchange, Torkjell Helle to BA.

The accident happened just off Sheep camping in Bergen. No other vehicle was involved and the driver was alone in the large vehicle when it overturned.

– The traffic is conducted by the police on the spot, says Helle.

At 1845 report Operations in Hordaland Police District, Bjarte Rebnord, that trailer is out of the road and waiting for the tow truck.

– According to witnesses who came behind, the trailer having come off the road with a wheelsets and failed to come up on the road again. The driver should have come quickly out of the car, and now is the Polish trailer safely off the road. There should be no danger of it falling further, says Rebnord.

The trailer is empty of cargo. It is taken routinely drink control of the driver, but there is no suspicion that he has driven under the influence. There are police nor reports of high speed before the accident.

Earlier in July, the E 16 closed at Sheep for three hours because of an overturned trucks.

At 2030 police officials the trailer will be removed 2200 Sunday night and that it then must be expected any closure of the road.
