Four saved down from hike in Jotunheimen – Bergens Tidende

Both the police and the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre was notified clock 22.52 last night that two people in their 20s and two 30s had gotten caught on the way to Norway’s third highest mountain.

Struggled to lose

– They even called and notified the basis that they had gone astray on the road and struggled to take off from Major Skagastølstid, said operations in Sogn og Fjordane police, Kai Myklebust.

Two men from Alpine rescue team was transported by air ambulance to lead the destitute down to Turtagrø. The time is 6:30 hikers and crew still on the way down.



– Refrigerated but OK

– They have taken a break at a hut on the way down to get a little recovered. Hikers are of course some cool because it has been cold during the night, but the condition of all Saklas be OK, says Myklebust.

Turtagrø is 900 meters above sea level and is a known starting point for hiking in the wild mountainous Hurrungane southwest in Jotunheimen. Store Skagastølstind extends 2405 meters above sea level and is so steep that they will reach the top, will have to climb.
