The fire ravaged Skatestraum Tunnel in Bremanger are probably not opened until 2016, said NPRA. The price tag to repair the tunnel will reach tens of million.
– We have still not the whole picture of how big the scope is. Already we see, however, that the damage is large and extensive, and it will take a long time to make tunnel repaired. Probably gets tunnel closed out the year, in the worst case anymore, says regional veisjef Helge Eidsnes.
He was Thursday in Bremanger to examine the tunnel and the damage it inflicted.
Cost estimate
– NPRA the next few weeks work to get the full overview of the damage. In August the Public Roads Administration to submit a report for road owner Sogn og Fjordane county, says Eidsnes.

Tanker trailers struggled
It was Wednesday July 15 that there was an explosion after a tanker trailer with 16,500 liters of petrol detached from the tractor and ended up in the wall, 300 meters inside the undersea tunnel .
The explosion triggered a large fire with fierce smoke. Fortunately no one was seriously injured.
