(Dagbladet): A man in 40 years even called the police and notified that he fill drove on E18.

The journey ended in a wall of a building in the city center – after a trip of about seven mil.

– There was a man who called in and were a bit despondent. He called several times and it turned out that he was on E18 by Askim. He was drunk and we tried to position ourselves to stop him, said operations manager Håkon Nilsen in Follo police told Dagbladet.

– We alerted the police in Oslo who later gained control of him. We have not received any reports of injuries, but there was at least one other car that had broken a mirror, says operations Nilsen.

The man should have run from Mysen in Østfold to downtown Oslo. The car crashed right by Karl Johans gate.

– I do not sit on any statistics on how many people are driving while intoxicated and is calling to us, but it is very rare, says operations Nilsen Follo Police District.

The Oslo police were notified at 1:55 tonight on filling traffic island.

– He’s dead drunk. Properly drunk, says operations manager Find Belle of the Oslo police told TV 2.

– It is amazing that he has come so far. He would even stop driving after he crashed and police had to apprehend him. He was not quite tame, says Belle.

The man had driven for about seven mil when the car ended in the housing wall.
