Believes Kristin matter could have been resolved earlier – Romsdals Budstikke

The general manager of the DNA laboratory Gena in Stavanger, Ragne Kristin Farmen, told Dagbladet that they had the technology to make a complete DNA profile already in 2006. The same technology is now being used to target 38-year-old for murder Kristin Juel Johannessen

– We have always said that when new technology comes with better performance, one can not spend as much time FHI has spent adapt, she said.

FHI believes the criticism is unwarranted.

– We have been working on an equal footing with other European laboratories, followed developments in the same way and at the same pace. It is important to emphasize that we are working according to the same quality requirements and standards as the rest of Europe does, emphasizes Bente Mevåg, Director at FHI.

The farm gets support from former police detective, now author, Jørn Lier Horst . He has followed Kristin case closely, and believes Public Health (FHI) takes too long to adopt new technology. (© NTB)
