The men, who are in their 20s and 40s, was this week convicted of aggravated robbery as part of a larger criminal network. All live in the city Nowa Sol Poland.
The men were arrested on their way out of the country and in Sweden, having robbed Ilmo Optics Drøbak 15 January. The goods they brought with them from there, had a value of about 2.5 million and is recovered. The yield from the other three robberies are transported out of the country and is considered lost.
– This is very professionally executed robbery. The reconnaissance beforehand, you know exactly what you should have, and going in and out in three minutes, said police prosecutor Nora Pedersen Follo police.
She says organized groups often operate in different parts of the country to reduce the risk of getting caught.
– When we first saw the case and looking for similar cases in other police, we saw a pattern. It is not always easy to catch up such matters, says Pedersen.
The four previously convicted of grand larceny. Three of them are previously convicted for aggravated theft as part of an organized criminal group in Austria and Germany. In addition to the prison sentence judged the replacement and confiscation of proceeds.
