– He is wanted by the police, but he will turn up, we’re not actively looking for him. It is not high-risk prison, but it is not certain he will sit there again if he fails to remain within the fences, says operations Øystein Sjøtveit Follo police.
He was missed during an inventory in prison. When the staff checked surveillance images, it was discovered that he had climbed over a fence, writes online newspaper.
The prisoner, a man in his 30s, is not considered as dangerous and had just sat one day when he escaped. The man escaped Indre Østfold prison clock 17.46 Tuesday afternoon.
It is the second time in a short time that a prisoner escaping from this prison. The last time it happened was December 12th. Also in this case the prisoner have recovered over a fence.
Indre Østfold prison has two branches, one in Eidsberg and one in Trøgstad. While the former is a normal prison with high security, the department is in Trøgstad – who is a former military camp – a prison with low security. (© NTB)
