Between 250 and 300 pigs have burned inside a piggery in Suldal in Rogaland, police said. It burns still in the building.

The fire in the pigsty and an attached barn broke out Thursday afternoon.

– it still burning, and we are working to get out the pigs that are still alive, said operations manager Tore Frøyland-Jensen in South West police NTB around 19.30.

Gris house is divided into several sections and floors, and Viking-Jensen says that fire crews are considering the possibility of adopting an excavator to rescue animals that are still alive.

Operations manager says that all cows that were in the associated barn, probably have come out of the building.

– This indicates that you managed to scare out all the cows, says Frøyland-Jensen.

It is unclear exactly how many pigs were in the pigsty when the fire started, but between 20 and 30 animals rescued.

– Emergency services are working hard on site, and neighbors help, said Frøyland-Jensen NTB earlier Thursday night.
