Dead woman was employed by the hotel – NRK

Found the hotel

– Based on the woman’s age as it is an unexpected death. We have as of now no clear cause of death, said Skinstad.



– Will be autopsied

The lawyer says that there is no trace of the place that makes the now initiate an investigation. She did not want to say exactly where the woman was found inside.

According to police, there remained other people at the hotel, but they do not want to say whether the deceased was traveling alone or with others.

– We have talked to people who have resided at the hotel. The most important thing for us will be getting made an autopsy of the deceased to determine a cause of death. We now have criminal technicians at the discovery site working there, said Skinstad.

Police in Inland has not yet requested assistance from NCIS or others.

Backed by crisis teams

There are currently 20 staff at the hotel and hotelier Per Otternes says to NRK that they have been together all day and been taken care of by a crisis team from the municipality. The woman was employed on site and Otternes describes the mood among the staff that pressure.

Tone Lajord is nurse Vang and was part of the crisis team that helped the staff at the hotel today. She tells of a challenging time for her colleagues.

– There are a large group of young people here from different countries who know each other well through job here in summer. They have many thoughts and feelings about what has happened, but it is probably a bit of time before they take it over themselves, she says.

The crisis team of four people has helped the staff through the day.

– Our role is to help them to see how they can support each other. They need to put into words the feelings they have and start the processing of what has happened.

The hotel currently has 20 guests and Per Otternes expect that operations will continue as normal ahead.

Bygdin Mountain Hotel is located 1,065 meters above sea level at the entrance to Jotunheimen Vang municipality in Oppland.
