On the way out of Eiksund tunnel experienced truck driver Jan-Olav Torvik (48) to be overtaken by a car that lost control and was only seconds away to crash in two opposing cars.
On Tuesday morning, Jan-Olav Torvik from Volda heading to Myrvåg in Herøy to do an errand. On the way out of Eiksund tunnel he experienced something which set a fright in him:
– I was very surprised when it arrived a car up on my side, and I saw quite sure he lost grip, he says VG.
Torvik run one seven-tonne truck, and manages not to keep the speed limit when it gets steep slopes. As in the undersea tunnel Eiksund. On the way out of the tunnel as a chauffeur their chance to overtake.
– This can not possibly go well, but it did thankfully, I thought as the car drove past, says Torvik about overtaking as dash camera in his car filmed.
Such overtaking has 48-year-old experienced several times in exactly the same place, but then it has been dry handling and summer.
– The reason I let out this snippet on Facebook was that I wanted to show that this is wrong, and get people to understand that this must not repeat itself.
Police in Ulstein, Odd Kulo, believes that the driver has been very lucky.
– This could go horribly wrong. This is on a bridge, and here we see how it goes with the combination of speed and poor lead. The driver could both have collided with another car and driven into the sea, saying Kulo NRK who first publicized case.
He said that police have not created an investigation on the incident, since they have not received any clear messages or tips.
