Unexploded dynamite found at the accident spot at Geilo – Aftenposten

– It is well discovered it before starting up again at the construction site and before it began to dig there, says manager Siri Garden Haugen Directorate for Civil Protection and Emergency Planning (DSB) to NRK.

The accident at Geilo 3rd September 2014 was last year’s worst industrial accident. Three men were killed in what was a cracking accident in connection with work on Highway 7.

At first cleanup after the accident, it was revealed a few holes with dynamite that was not gone off. But at the start of construction work on site in January this year, in addition almost 10 kg unexploded dynamite found in a borehole, according to the broadcaster.

Garden Haugen says this should have been discovered last year, but will not criticize someone for found . NPRA is the builder on site.

Unexploded dynamite charges that remain after blasting is not an unknown phenomenon on construction sites.

– We have seen that it is quite common. On a couple of big projects now last year we received reports that there remained gaps that were not passed off as planned. So it happens unfortunately.

Routine should such findings reported to the Agency.
