One injured in isklatreulykke Rjukan – Aftenposten

Police Rjukan reports on Twitter that one person is injured in a isklatreulykke at Rjukan. He sits on a ledge 60-70 feet above the bottom of a ravine.

Police say a group of tourists standing on top of the waterfall and enjoyed the views heard a bump down the waterfall.

– The tourists got in contact with one person down the waterfall by shouting to him. The person down the waterfall is probably a consequence of several climbers, but it is unclear how many people are involved, says operations in Telemark Police, Ole Jørgen Lund, TV2.

According to the police, it is good weather in the area. Local volunteers climbers are on site and participate in rescue work together with the police.

A Sea King helicopter from Rygge should arrive at Rjukan approximately kl. 10:30, reports JRCC Southern Norway Twitter. Norwegian Air Ambulance flying into climbers from Langfjella alpine rescue team.

Rjukanfossen is a popular area for climbing.
