After that NRK has learned it was not the police but an experienced forensic pathologist at the laboratory medical Gade Institute in Bergen as suspected Irgens could have died of carbon monoxide poisoning.

Prosecutors decided that Helge Irgens (61) were autopsied after he was found dead in the bedroom of his home on June 25 last year. Death was seen as unexpected.

– This should be a routine autopsy, but since it was a question about a possible fire at the scene, I was a little suspicious. Therefore I requisitioned one karbonmonoksidanalyse, which is not done routinely, said Coroner.

He says he sent the analysis results to the police in late August. On September 4 was the final result clearly. It showed that Irgens’ death was not natural, but caused by carbon monoxide poisoning. Three months later specific police to take out a murder charge.
