ASKØY / OSLO (Dagbladet): A 30-year-old woman from the Philippines was arrested at the airport today, accused of poisoning her husband (61), a Norwegian citizen, in Sunderland outside Bergen last year.

– She is charged with premeditated murder. She is Filipino citizen and is accused of having killed his spouse, a 61 year old man. He was a Norwegian citizen.

Police Attorney Inger-Lise Hoyland says that the police started investigation immediately after death.

– The rettsmedisinke result came two months after death. It showed that he died of carbon monoxide poisoning and drugs, says Hoyland.

– By the time there has been extensive investigation. We have also received assistance from the NCIS, she says.



– Called the police

The woman does not acknowledge guilt. She traveled to the Philippines in December last year. Defender Ms Keller Fløystad says she then notified the police in advance of the holiday journey. – She had been interrogated, and wanted to check if it was okay that she traveled. I contacted the police and was told that it was okay and that it was not planned new questioning. At that time she was not indicted, says Keller Fløystad Dagbladet.

Police Attorney Hoyland told Dagbladet that she is not aware that the police were asked if the accused could travel out of the country in early December.

– At that time she was not charged with murder, and we could not hold on to her, she explains.

Two daughters

The lawyer will not say anything about the findings they have made.
