Alarm Report on Defence computer system unknown to government and parliamentary – Aftenposten

Neither Ine Eriksen Søreide (H) have read the report. After some thinking time yesterday decided defense minister for obtaining the report.

Ten years overdue. Partially outdated. A cost and personnel drain. Describe Armed new computer system FIFI SAP P2814 in a classified report. The computer system is scheduled to keep track of all activities in the Armed Forces, from ammunition to food, personnel, vessels and maintenance.

The report is prepared by the Defence Logistics Organisation (FLO), which has wanted to alert new Defence Ine Eriksen Søreide and military chief Haakon Bruun-Hanssen about what they perceive as fundamental weaknesses in the system.

No one has read the report

But now Aftenposten reveal that Søreide have not read the report. Nor members of the foreign and defense committee in Parliament which repeatedly has accepted large cost increases for the computer system.

Yesterday, SØREIDE information apparatus first notified that the computer system is to be introduced anyway, and that it was not certain that she came to read the report. Later versus notified that Søreide will acquire the report and ask the Chief of Defence Staff for a briefing on what is done to follow it up.



– Must clean up

Trine Skei Grande in foreign and defense committee notes that the report is totally unknown to her, and that she has not heard about the issues it raises.

– I expect that the defense minister is addressing this and fix things, she says .

– Time and again we see that the computer systems to be delivered to hospitals, NAV and now to the defense fails, systems that cost enormous sums, says Skei Grande.

Concern

Committee Colleague Knut Arild Hareide (KrF) states that challenges Bailee computer systems and logistics has long raised concerns. The Committee has previously advocated that the computer system is in place. Now ask Hareide Søreide explain what she thinks about the report.

Anniken Huitfeldt (Ap) says she now assumes that Søreide “appropriately” now brings further relevant information from the report.

Christian Tybring-Gjedde, defense policy spokesman in FRP says he defends the huge sums spent on Defence computer system. And a system that pulls out in time may be old-fashioned before it is used. He also confirms that the manufacturers of the F-35 will only accept that the computer system that follows the aircraft being used.

Meanwhile, Parliament repeatedly declared their support for the new computer system, and he perceives today momentum that good.
