The shot that killed the she-bear was intended as a warning shot with rubber bullet. There was however a shotgun shell that was fired, so bear mothers died.
Binna had a young born this winter and had no chance to survive without the mother. The kid had to be euthanized.
The trapper had a loaded gun with various types of ammunition, and he did not control the order when the shot was fired, according to the prosecutor
The trapper has adopted the fine and the case is thus ended.
