Several counties are appropriate for immigration and integration minister Sylvi Listhaug (FRP) when she has decided to be a candidate for Parliament.
After the NTB has reason to believe may Listhaug very well end up on the list above for Vest-Agder FRP front parliamentary elections next year.
Annie Michaelsen, who also leads the nomination committee, has declined re-election, and Listhaug are several in the party seen as an excellent candidate for FRP in the “Bible belt”.
Immigration and integration Minister has in many different contexts highlighted his Christian faith and wears a cross visibly around the neck. She will be able to draw voters from KrF to FRP, points out.
– I find great support among Christians. I get a lot of feedback that they pray for me, ‘she said in an interview with Dagens Næringsliv recently.
More opportunities
Another possibility is list top in Aust-Agder, but there is parliament Ingebjørg Godskesen intent on re-election. In addition reigns county team over arendalitten Janice Bruun-Gundersen, who is considered a rising star in the party. She was elected as deputy to the Central Committee at the congress this spring.
Oslo bench is an obvious opportunity for Sylvi Listhaug, who met as deputy from Oslo in the previous period and has long experience from the Oslo policy, not least as commissioner.
But the question is whether she and the party wants a contested vote between Listhaug and Christian Tybring-Gjedde for second place behind leader Siv Jensen, if it can be avoided.
– We will send out the first of several preliminary list proposed districts after our meeting on 5 September. The final proposal will not be available prior to the nomination meeting in December, said the nomination committee chairman Peter Meidell said. He would not comment Sylvi Listhaug any candidacy from Oslo.
Many in More
More og Romsdal, there are many strong candidates for seats on top of the nomination list. Several sources NTB’ve talked to, considers it unlikely that Listhaug will represent their home county sitting in the next period.
FRP veteran and parliamentary leader Harald Tom Nesvik will most likely be on top this time also. The county’s second FRP representative, Oskar Grimstad, has also agreed to re-election. In addition, Agriculture Minister Jon Georg Dale promoted his candidacy.
Dale is also mentioned as a possible new deputy of the Party of the term, a position Sylvi Listhaug itself is the hottest candidate if Ketil Solvik-Olsen or Per Sandberg lends itself next year. Both say no to white space, and it is considered unfortunate that none of the assistant managers sit in Parliament if FRP end up in opposition after the election.
Final answer
Sylvi Listhaug has spent summer on whether she will seek parliamentary seat in the next period. In an interview with Dagbladet Friday came clarification.
– I have received a lot of inquiries from politically committed people, both within the party, but also lots of ordinary people outside the party. They have asked me to continue. I find it difficult to disappoint those who have faith in me, says Listhaug said.
She says she stands at the disposal of the party, under the condition that she be nominated at a safe parliamentary seat. Asked whether she is rising in other counties than Oslo, responding Listhaug as follows:
– I will answer inquiries, if I get it. Anyway, I have the ambition to do a good job for Progress, the county I possibly being elected for. That I promise voters in the county.
