Police tell NRK that the man who died Monday morning not even was the driver of the tap.
the Driver should have been on the ground and used the remote control to tap when the accident happened. It writes Trønder-newspaper.
crane operator stated that he was not aware that his colleague found themselves at the tap. Had he been there, he would not put it in time, ” says etterforskningsleder Tor Klevmo to Trønder-newspaper.
Klemulykke
the Police says to NRK that they know what has happened, but not the cause of a man 60 years died.
He died after having come in the squeeze in connection with the kranarbeid. Exactly what has happened we will not go into, ” says Klevmo to NRK.
There were no direct witnesses to the ulykka.
We are undergoing now etterforskningsmateriale to find out what the cause of the ulykka is, ” says Klevmo.
Krimteknikere has examined the premises, and the police have completed the interrogation of persons affiliated with the scene of the accident.
– the Tragic event that shocks
60-year-old worked on Biokrafts plant in Skogn in Levanger municipality. He was employed in the NCC, which was a subcontractor to Biokrafts general contractor Purac, during the construction of the new biogassfabrikken.
head of communications at the NCC in Norway, Tor Heimdahl, can confirm that both the man who was killed and the driver of the tap, is employed in the company.
This is a tragic incident, which of course shocks us. We have lost a worker, and it is absolutely terrible. The work is now of course stopped and we have started investigation of the incident, ” says Heimdahl.
How long the work will be stopped is currently uncertain.
It is too early to say. Our focus is now to take care of work colleagues, and see what they need of time, before we get started again.
– Must think safety every day
NCC writes on their website that they have a zero vision when it comes to accidents, and that they are working systematically to reduce the number of accidents.
– This shows just how important it is with a zero vision. We have to think safety every single day, and here we show that we do not have managed it, ” says Heimdahl.
Is there anything that suggests that routines have been broken?
– we can’t say anything about now. We assist the police and the labour Inspection authority, and we do an own internal investigation to find out what has happened. We have to wait until the investigation is completed before we can say anything about it, ” says Heimdahl.
