the Man who is charged with killing 23-year-old Egil Tostrup Bråten, 14 years ago, has previously questioned as a witness.
23-year-old Egil Tostrup Bråten was found outside the dorm room their in Nordahl Bruns gate in Oslo city centre the 18. november 2002. The case has since been on the list of Norway’s unsolved murder.
But today, the entire 14 years later, police arrested and charged a 32-year-old man for the murder.

He was a few years ago questioned as a witness in this case and is now charged with murder or complicity to murder, says Stein Olav Bredli by Voldsavsnittet at a press conference Wednesday afternoon.

The defendant is now in the questioning of the politihuset in Oslo. Police will not yet say anything about what they believe is the motive for the murder. They will also not comment on what led to the development in the case.
– There is nothing that suggests that there is some relation between the man and the victim, ” says Bredli.

Anne Kristine Bohinen is the assistance of counsel to Bråthens parents. She has been in contact with the parents after they came to know about the police arrest.
They abandoned hope that the case can now be on the way to being cleared up. But currently, it is pending, for they know not what comes out of the police investigation, ” says Bohinen to VG.
We wish now not to say anything. We leave it to the police, ” says mama Solveig Tostrup Bråten.

Dead hospital
Bråten had been at the cinema with friends the night he was killed. Just before he swung into the Nordahl Bruns gate, observed a taxi driver two men that came after him.
According to the police see the driver, the three men were talking together outside the Nordahl Bruns gate 18. Ten minutes later discovered a politipatrulje by chance a man who was lying on the street. It was Egil Tostrup Bråten. Badly damaged by knife wounds.

a Few metres from the crime scene, found the police a knivslire. Police have previously meant that Egil Tostrup Bråten was the victim of a ransforsøk and that he was a random victim. The police will now not comment on the fact that they still believe Tostrup Bråten was a random victim, but as far as known, did not recognize the defendant the husband of the deceased 23-year-old.
– That someone goes free out there, I have put behind me. It bothers me no longer. But Egil has I not put from me. I miss him! said the character of egill’s father, Steinar Bråten (79), to the VG in February of 2015.
