on Thursday night confirmed the police that they have arrested an additional suspect in the 14-year-old drapssaken. It was a 30 year old man who was arrested in Oslo, and he is charged with murder or complicity to murder.
It charged the 32-year-old was arrested Wednesday. He asked although to be questioned again by police Thursday, and the came with a completely new explanation.
He relates the incident and the case, tells politiinspektør Grete Lien Metlid in the Oslo police at a press conference.
She would not say whether the offender has acknowledged straffskyld, but she tells us that 32-year-old has agreed to be imprisoned Friday.
– Expresses sympathy
– the Defendant has expressed sympathy with the relatives and has told that it has been difficult for him to carry on this in 14 years.
– We will not go into what the 32-year-old specifically said in the interrogations in the day because we should check whether the information he has come up with votes. According to the defence counsel to the defendant, a lawyer, Vidar Lind Iversen, recognizing the 32-year-old not straffskyld.
Metlid told at the press conference Thursday night that police have been in contact with the relatives, and that they are informed about the latest developments in the case.

Egil Tostrup Bråten (23) from Valer in Norway was killed with a stikkvåpen in the centre of Oslo on the night of Monday 18. november 2002.

A politipatrulje was right on when Bråten was tucked down and killed in Oslo 18. november 2002. They found 23-year-old mortally wounded.

Bråten was found lying on the ground in Nordahl Bruns gate, just a few metres from the entrance to the apartment building he rented bedsit in.

the time was around 00.30 when Bråten moved towards his residence in Nordahl Bruns gate, right by the Blitzhuset. He took the route via St. Olavs plass, away Langes gate and down in Nordahl Bruns gate.
Two people came after him
An observant taxi driver saw two persons following after it which was probably Bråten from right next to St. Olavs plass and up Langes gate. The taxi driver reacted to this, and ran after into the Nordahl Bruns gate. Where he sees three people standing together on the sidewalk.

During the ten minutes later, driving a police car down in Nordahl Bruns gate. The clock has been 00.50.
Attempting to save his life
Suddenly see commissioner Harold Fredrickson, a man who is lying on her back. The relatively fresh police officer does not see any blood or anything else that suggests that man is seriously damaged. Fredrickson goes out of the car to check.
Suddenly he noticed a knife wounds under the jacket with the man who is on the sidewalk. Police summon an ambulance and initiate lifesaving first aid. The damaged is Egil Tostrup Bråten.
An ambulance going to the fairly quickly, and carries Bråten to Ullevål hospital. He dies shortly after arrival.
One of the police theories is that the 23-year-old was killed in connection with a ransforsøk. This is not confirmed.
the Murder of Bråten has never been dropped. In 2013 intensified police investigation.
