Great snøskredfare, but the Man is quiet – Adresseavisen

the Case is updated.

on the Night of Friday is expected to be intense snowfall over the 600-800 m.o.h. in the county of Møre and Romsdal and Sogn and Fjordane. It is expected to be a half a meter new snow in the mountains, but locally it may reach over a meter of snow in the course of Friday. In the mountains it should blow gale from the southwest which will lead to flakdannelse and large storage of snow behind the ridges and in the grooves and hollows. Large naturally triggered avalanches can occur high in the mountains, called in the snøskredvarselet from the NVE.

And it doesn’t stop here: over the Friday it becomes warmer and snøgrensen will pull up to over 800-1200 m.o.h. Where the snow goes over to rain, there is a high probability of naturally triggered wet snow avalanches. Snøskredfaren be considered to the 4, which means great snøskredfare.

By the Man to the metering station in the Romsdal was Wednesday, 50 centimeters of snow. This will probably double in the course of Thursday. Temperaturendringen will not be much more than up to three plussgrader in the sections of the area. Thus, there is little evidence that the Man will wiggle with novemberstormen.

- the Precipitation comes as snow and we expect little activity in the mountains, ” says sjefgeolog Lars Harald Blikra to Adresseavisen.

the NVE is prepared to help the mountain to release in 2017. Three tanks with 40 000 litres of water each, which can be refilled continuously, will be pøst on the mountain when the activity picks up again next year.

- This happens at the earliest in the spring, but just as likely first to fall, says Blikra.
