Telling Right-note recommends Olympics – VG

Conservative members of parliament are required to saying yes to the Olympics, but Culture Thorhild Widwey claim nothing has been decided.

At 15 meetings Conservative parliamentary Prime Minister Erna Solberg and her ministers to give an advice on what they think the government should do with the Olympic application.

The starting point for discussion at meetings is an internal memo marked “strictly confidential”, which is sent out all Conservatives 48 members of parliament.

In the note, which is penned by Conservative cultural policy spokesman Svein Harberg in Parliament, in close collaboration with the Culture Thorhild Widwey recommended parliamentary group to go in for a Winter Olympics in Oslo in 2022.

VG has gained access to the secret memo on six sides. The conclusion reads as follows:

Several assumptions

“A clear requirement for any government guarantee and the investment must be to seek the committee work for a substantial reduction of the total cost, and the achievement of understanding and acceptance by the IOC for a possible Olympics and Paralympics in Norway in 2022 will be a sober event »print Harberg of note, before he concludes:

” Given that these assumptions are in place, the faction initially positive to a government guarantee. “

The paper uses Harberg and Widwey much space to discuss various claims about a Norwegian Olympic concept and try to bring forward competent facts .

Internal criticism

But VG is aware that several of the parliamentary group has reacted strongly to the note. Many believe the quality is weak and that several of the allegations in the note is not grounded in reality.

Among other attempts Harberg in Olympic memorandum to calculate the possible health effects as part of the revenue will come from an Oslo Olympics .

– This is quite impossible to estimate any effects of now, said a Conservative source told VG.

Prior to the afternoon’s Conservative Party meeting, the communications department and the management of the Conservative parliamentary worked hard for the Olympic memorandum should not leak out to the press.

– secrecy surrounding this issue has come completely out of proportion, says another of Members of Parliament to attend the meeting.
