No solution on the togstreiken – Daily

By: Mats Rønning

– We have held on now for six hours. The parties are set to continue, but how long it can be to talk about, is impossible to say, said mediator Dag Stousland when he by 18-time on Thursday, gave a brief report to the press outside the Riksmeklerens offices in the Border.

Shortly after came messengers with dinner to the dealers from the LO state to State and Range.

Stousland describes the mood in the meklingsrommet as good, but does not hide the fact that the parties are far from each other. Some sketch of the solution is not yet presented.

Large spacing

Still there is the question of lokførerutdanningen is understood properly.

– There is a great distance between the parties. It is not so uplifting, but we’ll hope for a breakthrough, ” says Stousland.

Earlier in the week put the parties together in a 16 hours long meklingsmøte that came into being following an initiative from the Norwegian Lokomotivmannsforbund. Now, there is talk about a so-called compulsory mediation at Riksmekleren.

– the Parties did not come to an agreement then and how is now, is unknown, says Stousland.

- Sense

On the way in to Thursday’s meklingsmøte beat Range-leader Anne-Kari Bratten stated that she finds the strike is pointless. The conflict is in its fifth week.

Conflict is about a national standard for the training of engineers who will have approval to run trains in Norway. Norwegian Lokomotivmannsforbund (NLF) has come up with a proposal to særavtale that will apply to a new national standard for education is determined by the government. Range would tidsavgrense særavtalen to nine months.

On questions about what to agree respond Bratten that lokomotivmannsforbundet must give up the requirement.

Silent on the escalation

NLF leader Rolf Ringdal says the reason for the lack of consensus is that if you refuse to commit to a national standard before the government has made such default.

He won’t say anything about any plans for escalation of the strike. At the same time, he believes transport minister Ketil Solvik-Olsen (progress party) could have made the conflict unnecessarily, to get on the path earlier.

– Samferdselsministerens job is to have a policy that safeguards the safety of the Norwegian railway, says Ringdal.

Mediator Dag Stousland, says to NTB that there has not been contact between the parties in the arbitration and the representatives of the government.

– It has not been themed at all, ” he says. (NTB)
