the Police in Bergen failed in the case about the murder Monika Sviglinskaja from in 2011. It has multiple reviews shown. But the director of public prosecutions will not put the blame on Geir Gudmundsen. He was chief of police in Bergen when the police dealt with the matter.

Experts have said that the police work in the case has been for the poor. Eight-year-old Monika was strangled with a belt. And there were signs of forced entry where she was killed. But the police henla matter. They believed it was suicide. Politioverbetjent Robin Schaefer disagreed. He thought the girl had been killed. And he warned about bad policing. The case developed into the biggest scandal in the Norwegian police ever.
Several in the management of the police in Bergen have joined. Gudmundsen has recently worked for the national police Directorate (POD) in Oslo. Now he has moved on to a managerial position in Interpol in France.
25. July in the year was Donatas Lukosevicius convicted of the murder of Monika. He was her former stepfather. Nordhordland district court considered the 18 years of detention was the appropriate punishment. He must be in prison for at least ten years. Only then can it be considered whether he drops out again. Lukosevicius believes he is innocent. He has appealed the verdict. It is currently not known when the appeal will start.
