the minister of justice Anders Anundsen (the progress party) believes that the EU must let the Uk continue with the temporary border controls so long as we even think it is necessary.
Norway is one of the five Schengen countries that have implemented border control in the wake of the flyktningkrisen.
When justisministrene in the EU and the four EFTA countries gather to meet in Luxembourg on Thursday morning, the Anundsen ask for the green light to proceed with the controls.
– I think it is important that we have the opportunity to continue with the inner border as long as we believe there is a need for it, ” says Anundsen to the NTB.

Not resolved
The Norwegian border control applies to ferries arriving from Denmark, Sweden and Germany. The control was introduced in november of last year and has since been extended several times, most recently in may when it was extended by six months.
Anundsen emphasizes that the government has not yet taken a position on the control is to be extended again. But the government must have the ability, he believes.
– It is important for us. We believe the situation is still of such a character that it still is a risk that we can get large movement within the Schengen area. It is still a fairly large inflow, although it can’t compare with what we experienced last fall, ” says Anundsen.
– The measures that would give full control over the Schengens yttergrenser, has not yet had so good an effect as one might desire, ” he says.
Will have a common front
Before the meeting in Luxembourg have a number of the countries with border control made it clear that they also want the green light to the extension.
Danish innvandringsminister Inger Støjberg recently said to the DR that she will try to form “common front” with Norway and the other countries that are in the same situation.
– I think we should extend the border control. It is still an uncertain situation in Southern Europe, where thousands of refugees and migrants arrive in the country on Sicily for the moment. It can create a pressure on the Danish borders, said Støjberg.
The other Schengen countries that have border control, Sweden, Germany and Austria.
Can not be taken for granted
Message from the Eu innvandringskommissær Dimitris Avramopoulos is that the green light to a new extension can’t be taken for granted. He stands firmly on that goal in the long term is to go back to normal.
– If there is an application to extend the border control, we have to consider it. If the extension is justified, we will grant it. But we are not there yet, says Avramopoulos.
According to him must countries put forward their case on a “convincing” way.
– There are certain rules that must be followed. If you’re going to ask for an extension, one must be able to explain it. (NTB)
