Elderly woman killed in fire in sheltered – Aftenbladet.no

It took several hours before the fire department got the fire under control that started in 11-hours.

A half hour after the fire broke out was one person confirmed dead. The person, who is an elderly woman, were extracted. Smoke damage should be the cause of death, police said.

The fire probably started in the apartment of the deceased woman spreading between floors.

Evacuees

In all 29 people have been evacuated due to the fire. They received temporary abode in a building close by, before many of them have been taken care of by relatives.

There are no reports of any other damage caused by the fire, but there are many elderly people with impaired health that is evacuated. Some of them have been taken care of health care, police said.
