Jonas about religion: – It has become taboo – Dagbladet.no

Saron DAL (Dagbladet): – It is unusual for me, says Jonas Gahr Støre.

Dagbladet him in Sharon valley in Kvinesdal, just after he has been on stage during the annual summer conference organized by the Foundation of Faith Mission evidence.

– A generosity here

– There is a very great assembly – it’s rare we meet so many politicians. It was not a political context, but I think it was great. It is unusual, and an unfamiliar topic to talk to so many people about, but I felt it was a generosity here that made it went well, he said.

• Video from the summer conference at the top of the article!

On stage he stood side by side with Christian Democrat party leader Knut Arild Hareide and talked about his personal beliefs. Assembly of around 2,000 people asked, cheered and sang.

Even if your neighbor Hareide sang, showed no Støre forward singing voice. He asked not loudly with meeting but spoke still outspoken about their faith.

– I am keen to distinguish between what is private, as it is important to heine about, and that is only mine, with it being personal. That I mean people can hear about what shapes my opinions. I have in all my political work has been concerned that religion and livsyn is one thing, but politics should be the work of man, he said.

– Will taboos

– How do you manage to distinguish between faith and politics?

– I think that we in Norway have managed over the years. We have in many ways washed religious texts out of legal texts, and it is a quality in our society. Those countries that introduce religious texts in law, they become poor communities, he says, and adds:

– But we must not become so secular that we recognize that people are seeking in relation to identity, faith and doubt. Sometimes it becomes taboo areas, and that, I think is wrong. It means more for more. One thing is that we have new citizens who have a relationship with the faith, but I also think that Norwegians saw the amazement be there.

– Repels you Labor voters by lining up here?

– I have not thought about whether I attracts or repels some, but as party leader so I am a very public person. It is constantly questions about home interviews and to get close to private. Where I am keen to protect something that is only mine. But when it is all the more natural to talk about this kind of question. I’ve been in the Sharon valley, I have been invited here, and I will also acknowledge the people who are here, he said.
