It says Ellen Eikeset Mjøs, Chairman of the Bureau for Police Affairs in Western Norway, in an SMS to BT Saturday morning.
BT gets confirmed that the man’s family is notified of the death. It was Wednesday afternoon that he was found dead in jail in the basement of the police station in the city center.
Bureau was quickly connected to the case.
– We have good overview of the entire stay in jail, lighted Elllen Eikeset Mjøs in an email to BT Friday night.
Police informed Wednesday that the man had injured himself before he was found lifeless at the arrest.
– It was started first aid immediately. Fortunately there were experienced people at work. They did their utmost to help him and work with lifesaving assistance until paramedics arrived, said Kari Marie Kjellstad to BT Thursday morning.
