- Nine out of ten break the law – Telemarksavisa

Of 150 online stores Consumer Council has examined gave only 9 percent the information required by law.

In the survey as the Consumer Council about online shops followed 13 claims of consumer law and Electronic Commerce Act. Over half of the stores did not inform withdrawal form, and 85 per cent did not follow the latest rules that were introduced in the summer.

– This is disappointing. When you operate an online store, you have a responsibility to take care of the consumer, and you must of course put you into what the law requires, says Jo Inge Bjørntvedt Consumer Council.

– From summer increased demand for information that sellers in the EEA must give consumers. It is disturbing that so many in the industry have not been joined these changes, says Minister of Children, Equality and Social Inclusion Minister Solveig Horne (FRP).

A third of online shops did not inform the cancellation period and the cost of return. In these cases, the consumer may require that the store pays for return costs. (AFP)
