(Dagbladet): – Some say the debate about who is Better to work with is a debate about the KrFs soul. It is of course not correct. Our identity is not dependent on the right or the left, said Knut Arild Hareide in his speech to the national executive committee, and revealed KrFs attitude to the selection of 2017:
This is going to support a government with the Right and Left after 2017, but will not go into a government with the progress party
Hareide points out in the speech that This is a sentrumsparti who do not want to support solid political block, but that they will seek the government.
- It is a matter of course that the Sector as a responsible sentrumsparti to search government. We have good historical experiences with a collaboration with the Right, and it is together with them the Progress has been some of our greatest victories. KrF wants to collect a government with most of the centrist parties and the Right. Erna is very skilled and a person I respect deeply, ” says Hareide.
KrFs landsstyre decided in its meeting 5. november 2016 the following unanimous resolution:
- This is a kristendemokratisk sentrumsparti and going into the election that Norway needs a new government.
- the Progress has as goal to get in government after the election of 2017. KrFs participation in the government will depend on the election results, the relative strength of parties and political acceptance of the important issues for the party.
- This believes the country is best served by a government with the strongest possible centre. KrF will work for a government in 2017 which consists of most of the centrist parties and the party Right. With respect for political differences is a regjeringssamarbeid with FrP not applicable.
- If a regjeringssamarbeid the centre/Right is not possible after the election, the christian democratic party has to seek other support for our policy and most likely to choose the opposition.
- A regjeringssamarbeid with Frp is not applicable, said Hareide, however, mentioned neither the Ap or Jonas Gahr Støre concrete.
Krevende choices
the Norwegian Christian democratic party landsstyre have been gathered at the Royal Christiania hotel in Oslo since yesterday morning. The overriding issue on the agenda for partiledelsen and fylkeslederne in the party is the choice of direction after the parliamentary election in september 2017.
Should Better seek the government with the Right or the Labour party? their Scepticism towards the Progress party sits deep, but both internal surveys and polls show that the KrF-ers have a great sense of Erna Solberg as prime minister. Here she has a clear lead on Jonas Gahr Støre.
the Right, Left and KrF
For the majority of the Better it will probably be easiest to accept participation in a minority government , built on the Bondevik-the model with the Right and Left. The problem is that the conservative party will oppose to be støtteparti. The right’s attitude to refrain from supporting a government they are not a part of, is set in stone.
Ap and KrF
KrF leader Knut Arild Hareide and Ap-leder Jonas Gahr Støre have found the tone. Many in the Sector feel that the Labour party is a possible partner because of the convergence of attitudes in the social and fordelingspolitikken. But many are also skeptical of Ap because of the Israel issue, abortion, biotechnology, homosexual cohabitation and familiepolitikken.
