TV 2: Veronica died probably due to drowning – Bergens Tidende

Friday November 14, nearly three weeks after she was last seen alive, was Veronica Heggheim Step fence was found dead in the water’s edge in the innermost part of the fjord Barsnes in Sogndal, about a mile from where she lived. 22-year-old was identified two days later.

The forensic investigation shows that the body shows signs of having been long in the water. She was fully clothed when she was found. After that TV 2 experience, the preliminary forensic report concluded that she died from drowning. It will be found marks on the body that may have come after she has offended against rocks or other objects in the water.

Blood samples are routinely sent to Public Health for analysis.

A witness may have seen Veronica Heggheim Step fence propelled by a bridge Årøy.

– Now I just need to know what happened to Veronica

The close friend describes the wait as hard and heavy.

Police are working to find out why Veronica drowned and what prompted her to go from the residence without either phone or card. Neither dog was with, something that was not common, according to people TV2 have talked to who knew her well.

There is none of the injuries she sustained that clearly indicates that she was subjected to any crime.

Observation

Now the police tried to unravel an observation of a woman with dog near 22-year-old house in Sogndal.

– There is a person who has been seen walking on a bridge near her home in Årøy. This information will we trust to determine if it is Veronica who was seen or anyone else, says regional sheriff in Sogn, Asle Karoliussen to BT.

The woman had been seen between 18.30 and 19.40 on Saturday 25 October three days before Step fence was reported missing.

– If it turns out to be Veronica, it is the last observation we have of her. If there is Veronica who was seen walking by the bridge, we are very interested in getting in contact with this person. But witnesses from the area during this time may have something to contribute. They may have seen or heard something, said the sheriff.

The last safe observation of the 22-year-old former same Saturday, when she was driven home by a friend.



NCIS Help

Three days later it was raised the alarm when she did not show up for an appointment. In the time that followed, it was put substantial resources in exploration work. Both helicopters and mini submarine was adopted, and specially trained dogs searched for her.

Karoliussen says it’s done over 60 witnesses in the case and that it has been received around 120 tips.

– We believe this is an issue we are going to work with a good while. It may be a matter of weeks.

NCIS assist the local police with the investigation, including analysis of Step fence mobile phone and PC.
