Oslo and Akershus University College of Applied Sciences prohibits nikab – Fædrelandsvennen

Until now, Oslo and Akershus University College of Applied Sciences only had policies that have brought it up to each faculty to decide whether they want a ban or not. By 15 December introduced the ban for the entire school, NRK.

– In some programs, it is important that students not using full face garments. Therefore we create new policies that are so clear that students know what requirements we set, says President of HiOA, Kari Toverud Jensen told NRK.

27 years old Somi Salaouatchi, who heads the Sisters corner, an organization for Muslim women, mean use of nikab is a problem in education. Although she studied special education at the University of Oslo for two years, but stopped when it was prohibited the use of facial garments.
