Statoil’s investigation team warns that cost-cutting and new pan-european rules may lead to impaired helikoptersikkerhet.
Since before the oljeprisfallet in 2014 Statoil has cut costs. Also helikopterselskapene have noticed this, and have been forced to reduce the number of employees significantly.
the Caa-n has expressed that the strained economy and cutbacks in the workforce at helikopteroperatørene can lead to a lowering of safety culture, writing the investigation team in Statoil in the report which was published on Friday. They therefore recommend more stringent requirements in the contracts to prevent it to be cut down on posts that are related to security.
