Helikopterulykken on Turøy is the most serious helikopterulykken on the Norwegian continental shelf since 1997. 13 people died in the accident. The helicopter was on the way from the Gullfaks B to Bergen when the accident occurred.
It is the Accident investigation board Norway (Aibn) that is responsible for mapping the course of events and causes of the accident itself. In may adopted Statoil a separate investigation after the accident. It is crucial that everyone working offshore can have confidence in helicopter transport.
