It has been done welding work on the ceiling of the warehouse that burned down in Tonsberg, and there were propane tanks in the building, said fire department.
– When we got to the place we got informed that it had been welding on the roof and that there were propane tanks there. It may seem like they have been doing roofing or something similar, said fire chief Per Olav Pettersen, who is on fire area, to Tønsberg Blad.
It is still not concluded that this is what started the fire. Investigations will start when the rubble is cooled.
The fire department was notified of the fire in the warehouse and office building at Saba-premises Narverødveien via an automatic fire alarm clock 12.24 Thursday afternoon. Friday morning was the flames extinguished.
Between 400 and 500 stock stalls burned to the ground. The stalls are rented by the firm Basa-AS.
