Rovdata collects information about predators in Norway. They will love to have your help.
– Going on a trip this summer, so we hope that you have the app Skandobs ready on the phone, says Henrik Brøseth, supervisor of Rovdata on their website.
With the app, you can share what you’re watching, whether it be animal, tracks or other signs for predators. Do not download the app, you can either provide information directly on the website skandobs.no. But the app is especially nice to use because the phone can figure out exactly where you are. Skandobs also collects information from Sweden.
To see animals is not so common. But traces can probably find. It provides important information to Rovdata.
They also want you picking up poop from disservice if you find it. It can be delivered to the nearest predator connector in the Norwegian Nature Inspectorate (SNO). Here is an overview of predator contacts.
Such samples of poop can say something about how the bear wanders and lives.
– Collection of dirt is therefore very important for the monitoring, says Brøseth.
Rovdata collects information about predators lynx, wolverine, brown bears, wolves and golden eagles.
