Both the police and the JRCC received late Saturday night announcement that the four had gotten caught on the way to Norway’s third highest mountain.
– Two men from the Alpine rescue team was transported by air ambulance to lead the destitute down to Turtagrø. They are cool, but OK, says Sogn og Fjordane Police on Twitter.
The four are two people in their 20s and two 30s, newspaper Bergens Tidende.
– They even called and notified the basis that they had gone astray on the road and struggled to take off from Major Skagastølstid, said operations manager Kai Myklebust in Sogn og Fjordane police.
Turtagrø is 900 meters above sea level, a known starting point for hiking in the wild mountainous Hurrungane southwest in Jotunheimen. Store Skagastølstind extends 2405 meters above sea level and is so steep that they will reach the top, will have to climb. (© NTB)
