Walking and socializing for nursing home patients have been store for several private firms in Trondheim.
Relatives of the elderly in Trondheim pay private companies to ramble or provide social care for their elderly. For about 400 hours receive relatives a professional caregiver to be with nursing home patient, writes Adresseavisen.
Grethe Enlid in Trondheim private care services says that her company has many such assignments for dependents who are unable to giving their older social contact they need.
Enlid is also City Council representative for Progress and think it is sad that relatives should have to hire private for that family member in a nursing home to get fresh air.
– This municipality should manage to cover themselves. It is tragic that people have to pay for something as basic as fresh air, she says.
Kommunalråd Geir Waage (Labor) said to Adresseavisen that each nursing home must take responsibility for ensuring that residents get out in the fresh air.
– It should not be a big challenge for a nursing home to facilitate that patients recover, says Waage.
