Man escaped from prison in Horten – Dagbladet.no

(Dagbladet): A man has escaped from Nordre Vestfold prison, Horten department. It reports Vestfold Police on Twitter.

The man should be 190 to 200 centimeters tall, be slim and have wavy black hair. He should be of North African origin and be wearing glasses, a black t-shirt, blue tracksuit bottoms.

In addition, he will limp as a result of an injury to the foot, according to police.

– He jumped over the fence. Based on surveillance images, it looks like he has damaged or broken foot when he landed. The police do not consider this man as dangerous. We went out with the event on Twitter in hopes that someone sees him in Horten center. If anyone sees him, call the police. We are in the area and not far away, says operations manager Jan Kristian Johnsrud in Vestfold Police told Dagbladet.

Johnsrud say they do not believe the man had accomplices in the escape or that he has especially large resources a life on the run.

The assistant prison director at fengselset, Siv Helene Thomassen, stressing that the inmates are not zones of violence or similar crime but for a drug relationship.

– The all went incredibly fast. He participated in an activity in the backyard of the prison with three employees. Suddenly he climbed onto a roof and jumped down in a parking lot on the other side. It’s probably between four and five meters down to the tarmac and he injured himself in the foot, she said.

When the escape seemed to be a fact double checked that he had left the prison perimeter before they alerted the police. She said the escape occurred sometime between 10:15 and 10:30 in the morning. Although the prisoners managed to run away, look no prison manager that there has been no failure in routines.

– We have good routines. He was out with three employees within the prison perimeter. I can not see that there has been failure of some routines. It all went very fast, and it’s amazing that he at all managed to get up on the roof, says Thomassen.
