The population growth of 11,200 people is 4,100 fewer than in the same period last year. It is the lowest people rise since 2007.
Compared to Q1 last year, net immigration among citizens from the typical labor immigration countries Poland, Lithuania and Sweden decreased by respectively 28, 51 and 60 percent in the first three months , said SSB.
While the Swedes, Poles and Lithuanians account for the largest immigration, it is they who also most likely to emigrate.
Among the Swedes immigrated near 1,100, while 800 emigrated. Of Polish nationals immigrated 2600 and 900 left the country.
Together immigrated near 17,000 people, while 8,300 emigrated during the first quarter of this year.
So far this year there have been born 14.100 children, while 11,500 people have died. The birth surplus has not been lower since the first quarter in 2003.
