Islands judgment appealed – Aftenposten

Defending Odd Ivar Greenland confirms a SMS to NRK that Kristiansen anchor sentencing.

– My client is disappointed. We believe this is a severe judgment, and that the court has placed too little emphasis on the extenuating circumstances in the case, said Green after the verdict fell.

Prosecutor believed that a proper staff would have been 19 years in prison, but withdrew from one year because Kristiansen resigned yourself and let the cards on the table. He invoked mitigating circumstances because of the tough growing up with the difficult stepfather. This leave, however, neither the prosecutor or the court special emphasis on.

In court it was no secret of the brutal details of the killing and carving of the murdered 58-year-old.

By threatening buddy got Kristiansen transported likdelene to a wooded area a few kilometers from where they tried to light it on fire died. Same day escaped Kristiansen to the Netherlands, but resigned himself to the police after eleven days.

Kristiansen has previously stated that he deeply regretted the murder, and pleaded guilty from the start.

The 24 year old was also ordered to pay restitution to four family members of 200,000 kroner for every 50,000 kroner to his friend as he threatened. The verdict was unanimous.
