Mayor: Sign you out of Mannegruppa Ottar! – TV 2

The last few days, it has stormed around the Facebook-group “Mannegruppa Ottar”.

It was seriously the fuss around the group when the blogger Sophie Elise Isachsen wrote a post about it. She took a screenshot of them who had shared private photos of her on the group and written hate speech.

– There is something of the worst I have read. To have a kind of humanity and a relationship to the women and children, both incestiøse speech, rape and child abuse, there is no way in Norway, believes the mayor of the Tinn municipality, Bear Sæberg Birkeland.

on Tuesday posted a Facebook status on its own profile where he invites residents of the municipality to opt-out if they are a member of the group.

– the Mayor is full of humor, as perhaps many already have noticed. Humor gives us joy, and associating relationships between people. BUT this is NOT HUMOR, it is grossly offensive and completely immoral. Dirty and jævelsk it is also, he writes.

Thousands opting out

And warnings to members may seem to work. Over the last few days thousands have opted out of the group. In addition to the mayor, also has a number of other profiles encouraged their Facebook friends to unsubscribe.

I didn’t think that it would be so violently, but is very glad that it was there. This is a values, and the so-called humour goes a long way beyond it which is fine, ” says Birkeland.

He believes the band’s administrators have a responsibility to make sure that it does not have offensive content.

“Mannegruppa Ottar”: Not worried about

Kay Erikssen is one of the administrators in the group. He is not concerned that the group loses members.

– We have many members who are on the waiting list, so I’m not afraid of that group becomes smaller. For every thousand we lose we get about 2,000 new, he says.

He tells us that the last days have been a great strain, but that “Mannegruppa Ottar” will continue to work to change their reputation. They will also attempt to start a new fundraising for good causes, despite the fact that Barnekreftforeningen recently rejected their pengedonasjon of 180.000 million.

– It is only a small percentage of the members who are behind the inappropriate sense of humor. Most of the humor is about Donald Trump his hair, or funny pictures with the text, ” he says.

– Why delete you, not only this group?

– This has been an issue about freedom of speech and equality, therefore, we want to keep it. Nothing have ever claimed to have deleted similar content from a kvinnegruppe or forum. With a time it is to talk about men, then everything becomes worse, he believes.
