The ban on letting dogs run free, valid until August 20, informs the FSA. Tape coercion does not apply to certain types of hunting and service dogs in active service or under training.
– The wildlife is particularly vulnerable during this period. To prevent dogs scaring up or chase birds, wildlife and grazing animals, it is important that everyone adheres ties straitjacket. This is also a time of year when there are many people out there. Keep your dog on a leash for the sake of others, says Ole Herman Tronerud, Senior Adviser, Section Animal Health in Agriculture.
FSA reminds that several municipalities have their own areas where it is allowed to let dogs run loose throughout the year regardless the period with a lead. Some counties and municipalities also have their own rules on a lead in certain areas beyond the general ban.
