Almost no one will educate themselves in oil – Offshore.no

Nearly 20 percent more searches nursing education, according to figures from the Universities and Colleges Admission. Meanwhile, the number of applicants to NTNU studies in petroleum dropped dramatically. Now get almost any space.

According to Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Trondheim there are 31 applicants for the 39 seats in petroleum. This is down from 420 applicants for 53 seats, and last year it halved.

NTNU has been a sharp increase in applications for including communications technology and nanotechnology, where it is 30 percent more.

Overall, there is a decline in applications for Natural Science and technology studies at 3.5 percent from last year, the figures show that NUCAS published Tuesday.

We need a significant number of technology and science graduates for success in the restructuring and value creation society needs ahead, says Minister Torbjørn Røe Isaksen (H).

– I am glad that the number of applicants for teacher training remains stable and increasing part of education, but I’m concerned about the drop in applications for Education 1-7.
