Full investigation of suspicious deaths in Skien – VG

Police in Telemark has initiated an investigation after an 83-year-old man was found dead at his home in Skien Monday morning.

the police was notified at 9:14 of relatives who had been alerted by the man’s home care, writes Varden.

There were circumstances in place that made the police chose to signify the death as suspicious. Findings of the deceased and discoveries at the site triggered the police investigation.

– We have worked with technical and tactical investigation today. There have been both round queries in the area, questioning and the scene has been reviewed by professionals, said operations in South-Eastern Police District, Telemark, Jan Olav Jansen, VG.

– The dead are sent for autopsy. We expect a preliminary report during Tuesday, said investigating officer Georg Andersen said.



Press conference Tuesday

– There has been a development in the case. I can not say anything more about it yet, but there will be a press conference tomorrow, says Jan Olav Jansen told VG.

Investigations manager says 83-year-old may have been dead for a maximum of one day, as he should have been seen alive during the last day before he was found Monday morning.

Police started technical studies on site and has conducted an informal survey in the area Gulset in Skien where the man was found. Several people were taken in for questioning Monday.

– has been completed technical studies in man’s residence. They can be taken up again Tuesday if it should be needed, says Andersen.
