The curfew lifted in Baltimore – Aftenposten

Baltimore has been the scene for both peaceful demonstrations and violent riots after the African American 25-year-old Freddie Gray died in police custody. Friday it was announced that six police officers charged with murdering 25-year-old.

– I nullify curfew with immediate effect, writes the mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake on Twitter, and adds that she would like to thank the citizens for patience.

Soldiers of the US National Guard who were deployed in Baltimore in connection with the unrest withdraw therefore out of the city, reports the BBC.

In connection with the curfew was forbidden to move outdoors between 22.00 and 05.00. (© NTB)
