14-year-old is being investigated for rape of 15-year-old – Aftenposten

Police were alerted by a friend of the girl on Friday night, writes Rome Blad.

The abuse allegedly took place on a single-party in Lower Romerike Friday night. When police arrived at the scene, had the 14-year-old boy left the place, but the victim and her friend’s description led police to the boy’s home address.

Because 14-year-old is under the age of criminal responsibility, he was not arrested.

– But we’ve had him in the physical examination and spoke with him. He is now at home with his mother. The girl has been at the rape in Oslo and are cared for in the best possible way. She is with her family, enlightened operations manager Ronny Årstein Saturday morning.

Obligation to investigate

Police Attorney Camilla Ek Sørensen says to NTB Saturday morning that the police are confident that they have the right culprit. It is conducted to gather evidence at the scene during the night and the matter will be given high priority through the weekend.

– Because the designated perpetrator is under the age of criminal responsibility, he is not arrested or formally charged in any way. But in such serious cases, the police investigation duty and we will work to clarify all aspects of the case, said police lawyer.

When a crime is committed by someone between 12 and 15 years, the police have a duty to investigate the case although the whole thing will end with a formal dismissal of the complaint. However, this will ensure the victim’s right to seek criminal injuries compensation.

Questioning the weekend

The 14-year-old and one year older girl will be questioned by police Saturday or Sunday. Police will identify those who were present in the house where the party took place, and if there were any adults present. Nor is it clear whether it was used alcohol or other drugs at the party.

– There is reason to think that what is basically an innocent party, could end tragically, said operations manager Årstein.
